Vegetation
Natural vegetation in Egypt varies since there originally isn't a lot of rainfall. Where some form of water is found, perennials and grasses are found. The coastal strip has rich plant life in the spring
The Eastern desert recieves sparse rainfall, also supporting vegetation including tamarisk, acacia, and markeh (a leafless thorn-less tree with bare branches and slender twigs), as well as thorny shrubs, small succulents, and aromatic herbs. Growth is even more interesting in the Wadis of the Red Sea Hills and of the Sinai and in the Elba Mountains in the southeast. |
