Daily life
Early in the morning, you can see the fellahin (egyptian peasant) in large groups coming to and from the field with animals, also seen in the very late afternoon. During the day, the men would be seen working on the land with old tools such as the minjal (sickle). Sometimes they would be seen working with a tractor.
The women could be seen working in the Delta, the younger ones working with less hardworking tasks. Women who are 16 and older will not be in the field working, but do housework. Family is greatly valued in Egypt. Tribal identity is still wildly known. It could be recognized everywhere except in urban areas. |
